Why you might want to consider taking this opportunity: FWD is a community-based, non-profit charitable organization, incorporated in 2014, and is run by an all-volunteer board of directors. FWD is currently funded by the Ontario Government to provide independent facilitation support to over 90 people in our regions. We are currently looking for people who share our vision and values, and who are interested in being part of a growing organization working to bring about real change in the lives of individuals and in our community. FWD board meetings currently take place in Guelph, although some committees meet via teleconference.

Volunteer type position is suitable for:

Duties / Roles / Activities: The FWD board meets approximately 10 times / year between September and June. Meetings last between 90 minutes - 2 hours. Normally there are a few documents to read in advance of meetings to prepare. Board members also regularly take on other tasks related to the organizations mission. Some recent examples include helping to review and interview job candidates, or serving on one of the board's standing committees (public outreach, grant applications, fundraising, management and oversight).
