Volunteer type position is suitable for:
  • Adult (18 +)
Duties / Roles / Activities: Events take place in multiple locations within the Credit River Watershed(Orangeville, Halton Hills, Erin, Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga). In-class training will take place in Mississauga.

Training Provided:
Introduction to CVC;
Health and safety protocols and best practices;
On-site event management and leadership training;
Task-specific training;
Some at-home training required (approx. 3 hours) (online Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act training + review of CVC policies and procedures);
In-class training date is Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm and will take place at CVC’s Head Office (Mississauga).
Sample Tasks: Duties may include, but are not limited to:

On-site event preparation and clean-up;
Greeting and guiding participants;
Providing demonstrations;
Maintaining quality control over planting techniques;
Advising and assisting participants;
Ensuring a safe work environment;
Taking photos and/or sharing the event on social media;
Encouraging a positive atmosphere!

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age or older;
Able to perform physical tasks (bending, lifting, carrying, twisting, etc.);
Past participation in at least one CVC Workday Event (tree planting, invasive species removal, electrofishing, etc.) or have a strong environmental background;
Interest in nature or the environmental sector;
Previous volunteer experience and/or working in a customer service role;
Desire to help out and gain leadership skills;
Enthusiasm for a healthier environment;
Feel confident in large groups and interacting with the public;
First aid training an asset;
Vulnerable sector screening required.
