Volunteer type position is suitable for:
  • Youth
Duties / Roles / Activities: - Provide fun, safe and healthy experiences for children in the program

- Exhibit positive and professional behaviour with all participants, parents and co-workers

- Provide daily support to Camp Coordinator, Assistant Coordinators of Summer Camps and Counsellors

- Acknowledge role as a leader within the day camp program by modeling appropriate behaviour, acting as a good role model and maintaining a positive attitude

- Participate fully and assist staff in the implementation of camp activities

- Assist with monitoring child interaction and provide guidance to ensure the well-being of campers in consultation with the Camp Counsellors

- Assist camp staff in the implementation of camp activities and clean-up
- Assist in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the camp environments

- Comply with all expectations outlined in training, including all associated training documents

- Lead one game and one song with the assistance of the Camp Counsellors, per week of volunteer placement

- Summer camp settings may include various conditions: outdoor environments, indoor spaces, lakes, swimming pools, skating rinks, field trips, and park settings

** MUST be able to attend mandatory training on June 17th 2023, 9:00am - 2:00pm **
Sample Tasks: - Leading games, crafts, and other activities,

- Help children transition to activities

- Help supervise children and encourage their participation, inclusion, and sense of belonging

- Help with clean-up and set-up

Volunteers can volunteer for 1 week or multiple, depending on individual goals! Choose what camp you'd like to work in - this depends on what we are offering on the week you indicate.
We run camps at Alder, Tony Rose, and Island Lake
Hours for volunteers will be Monday-Friday 9:00-4:30pm
