Theatre Orangeville is much more than five professional theatre productions performed annually on the stage of the beautiful Town of Orangeville Opera House. We run a drama and musical Young Company, the Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers choir, after school and summer drama programs, special needs programs for children, youth and adults, a set build service, and an in-school touring company–all with the support of a multitude of community volunteers, donors, partners and sponsors.

Theatre Orangeville’s artistic vision guides every aspect of our company: to enrich the community with a high quality, professional theatre experience that showcases the development of new Canadian works; to provide youth with unique opportunities to transform their lives through the performing arts; to provide vibrant, engaging and creative opportunities that grow the cultural experience through community partnerships.

Founded in 1994, Theatre Orangeville is our region’s largest professional arts organization–140 mainstage productions have taken place since our inception with 39 being world premieres; 135 of them, written or composed by Canadians! Each year, more than 30,000 people come through the Opera House doors to watch our productions or those of community or private user groups that rent this fully modernized yet historic facility that dates back to 1875.

As a not-for-profit, for Theatre Orangeville to continue to thrive, we rely on the assistance of more than 200 volunteers. We offer a range of opportunities from ushering and delivering posters, to building in the shop and helping with our annual fundraisers. Come check us out!
