Dufferin Community Foundation is the "forever fund" for our community. When donors give to us, we invest their gift into permanent charitable funds. Each year, the annual income from the funds is used to give grants to our local charities. It's the best way to help our community now and for generations to come.

Our foundation was created in 2018 by a group of spirited and community-minded volunteers. We have a volunteer Board of Directors, four Committees (Grants, Finance, Outreach and Governance) and several ad hoc working groups. Volunteers are the engine of our organization. This year we are giving out $35,000 in grants. In 2023, the number will increase to $50,000. Our goal is to build $10 million in endowed funds within our first 10 years of operation. When that happens, we will be able to grant approximately $400,000 a year to charities in Dufferin County. The beauty of community foundations is that we provide a secure and reliable source of funding for charities, so that they can meet urgent needs and strengthen our collective quality of life.

Dufferin Community Foundation is 100% local. All grants are invested into community programs and services.
