Volunteer type position is suitable for:
  • Adult (18 +)
Duties / Roles / Activities: Your main duties and responsibilities:
-Support the Team Captain in implementing the recruitment plan for runners/walkers to participate in the TWM (October each year)
-Engage ASO team members by sending out regular communication to encourage their efforts, and to deliver event details
-Coordinate registration, and race packet pick-up/delivery for ASO TWM team members as required
-In accordance with the Team Captains’ guidance work closely with the ASO Fundraising and -Social Media Teams to support fundraising efforts related to TWM, including finding team sponsors, reaching out to corporate sponsors, etc.
-Work with the ASO Storytelling Team and Marketing Team to discover stories about team members to share in the media and on social platforms
-Maintain and update the ASO TWM database
-Other TWM-related tasks

What are we looking for from you:
-Self-starter with outstanding communication skills both verbally and written
-Experience in event planning and implementation
-Knowledge of fundraising and donor/sponsor engagement
-Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
-Able to remain calm and navigate potentially stressful situations
-Problem-solving ability
-Background in Event Planning, Fundraising, Sales & Marketing, or Communications preferred
-Experience working with a non-profit an asset

Technology Capabilities Requirement: Remote access ability. You will be required to use your own computer/laptop and will be given access to an ASO Gmail account that you will use to conduct all ASO- related correspondence. You must be familiar with online web-conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).

Time commitment: 5-10 hours/per week (remote), slightly heavier time commitment closer to the event date (October 2024)

Screening Requirements: Resume, Interview, Reference Check

Duration: Start immediately until submission of final reports to ASO management after the event (October).
