Why you might want to consider taking this opportunity: This is a great opportunity for someone who does not want to commit to more than an hour or 2 a day, 1 - 5 days a week. Clients in our community have limited access to transportation and therefore having a volunteer drive them to a community program is often the only way they are able to get to and from the program. Monthly KM reimbursement is paid out to each Volunteer at $0.42/km.

Volunteer type position is suitable for:

Duties / Roles / Activities: Volunteer drivers are committed to 1-5 days a week and are responsible to safely getting our Clients to and from the Adult Day Program. Volunteers must have a valid drivers license and insurance as well as provide us with a drivers abstract. Drivers will be trained on how to safely transport clients from their homes and program and to the car. Drivers will also be trained on the different abilities that clients may present with and will be trained on different strategies to most effectively and safely transport Clients. Mileage is paid to each Volunteer on a monthly basis at $0.42/ km. Driving times range from approximately 830-930 am and then from approximately 3-4pm. The majority of the driving is in Orangeville but occasionally there are opportunities for out of town driving as well.
