Volunteer type position is suitable for:

Duties / Roles / Activities: The Board of Directors is responsible for governance of the organization. The Board helps set the strategic plan for the organization and ensures the success of the plan and organization.
Hospice Dufferin board members assist in fundraising for the agency.
The Board meets once a month, and then Board members will attend a committee meeting of their choosing once a month or quarterly as well. Board members also are aksed to assist with fundraising events (such as Hike for Hospice).
Sample Tasks: Board of Directors are responsible for the governance of the agency. The main responsibilities of nonprofit boards:

Establish mission and purpose.
Support, hire and evaluate the executive director.
Set policies and ensure effective planning.
Monitor quality of programs and services.
Ensure adequate financial resources.
Protect assets and provide proper financial oversight.
Enhance the organization’s public exposure
