Volunteer type position is suitable for:
  • Adult (18 +)
Duties / Roles / Activities: To transport clients in a safe and timely manner to and from pre-assigned
destinations while providing door to door service.
• Interviewed by transportation staff
• Attend general information session.
• Meet with transportation team
• Attend driver trainings and meetings
• Read and understand driver training guide
• Follow CCS policies and procedures
• Job shadow with a lead volunteer - optional

Sample Tasks: • Meet and greet clients providing door to door transportation
• Maintain a clean, odour free, safe, and insured vehicle
• Provide a friendly safe ride for clients to their destination

Skills / Experience: • Must be 18+ years of age
• Own a safe and reliable vehicle with at least one million liability coverage or drive agency owned vehicle when requested and available
• Have a cell phone for communication while transporting clients
• Physically capable of walking clients to and from door of pick up and destination
• Must have a G drivers license with a minimum of 3 years driving experience
• Successful vulnerable sector police check
• Satisfactory drivers abstract
• Provide proof of insurance and provide annual update
• Strong knowledge of Peel Region and surrounding areas
• Attend quarterly team meetings
• Good interpersonal skills
• Enjoy working with all ages and abilities of persons
• Understanding and caring
• Work independently with good judgment
• Be able to follow direction and work within the scope of practice outlined by CCS staff
