Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Our Mission: The mission of the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County is to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and to promote research. The Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County is committed to helping people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias by providing care, support, information and education for people living with dementia, educating decision-makers about the need for improved health care services and qualified health care workers to support people with dementia, and increasing awareness of dementia and its impact on families as a whole. We offer Help for Today through our programs and services for people living with dementia and Hope for Tomorrow, by funding research to find the cause and the cure. Our staff provide support programs, educational resources and referral services to ease the burden of care and improve the quality of life for people living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. These include memory clinics for early detection, education and information sessions, support groups, and private and family counselling. We could not do what we do to support people with dementia, and raise money to find a cure, without our volunteers. We value their experience, input and enthusiasm. Volunteers make a difference in our community, and their support helps make life better for those living with dementia and helps improve the quality of community.
