Volunteer Dufferin partnered with local agencies through the summer and fall of 2025. On Wednesday, October 22nd, at the Edelbrock Centre, over 20 organizations joined in a day of welcoming, connecting with and celebrating volunteers for Connect 2025's Volunteer Fair. Thanks to all who came, we look forward to staying connected with you! If you haven't yet, please fill out our post-event survey.
We're starting a movement of people who care, and bringing attention and recognition to your critical role in making our communities thrive. However you connect, engage or contribute to your community, we want to hear from you!
So have your say. Based on the work of The Association of Municipalities of Ontario we are asking people to let us know where we need to put our energies for the municipal election in October 2026.
CONNECT 2026 has three goals
1. Promote Volunteer Dufferin, our new portal features, conduct member surveys and co-create an awesome volunteer fair.
2. Promote the Caregivers In The Hills program and help reach their ambitious goal of 4,000 registered caregivers.
3. Begin a network of Community Connectors and start a journey of building belonging in our neighbourhoods.

Volunteer Dufferin is your local volunteer centre. We offer a matching portal that helps you find your ideal opportunity match by providing a comprehensive set of options to choose from: create a profile and select your preferred causes, activities, availability, duration, location and any certificates you hold. Organizations post opportunities that select from those same criteria and requirements of the position, and you will receive notifications on a customizable schedule when opportunities match your selections.
Caregivers in the Hills is a FREE program created to recognize and validate unpaid caregivers in Dufferin/Caledon.
- Receive an ID badge that tells health and social care providers that you are a caregiver.
- Enjoy discounts and benefits from participating local businesses in Dufferin/Caledon.
- Join a supportive community of unpaid caregivers and receive support navigating local health and social care resources.
Connected communities foster a sense of belonging, create safer neighbourhoods, improve engagement, combat loneliness and make sure people know where to go for what they need.
We are building a network of people who are good at connecting people with their community and want to help.
